Get ready, new wave fans! Legendary bands Devo and The B-52’s are joining forces for a co-headline North American tour this autumn, dubbed the “Cosmic De-Evolution Tour.” This 11-date run, a continuation of their respective “farewell” tours, kicks off in late September and concludes in early November, hitting cities from Toronto to Houston. Support will be provided by Lene Lovich.

Despite previous vows of no more extensive tours, both bands expressed excitement for this unique collaboration. Fred Schneider of The B-52’s stated, “This is an extraordinary opportunity we couldn’t say no to.” Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh added, “All I can say is Cosmic Devolution is REAL!” The bands’ long-standing mutual admiration, stemming from their early days in the punk and new wave scene, played a key role in making this tour a reality.

The inspiration for this unprecedented joint tour sparked after both bands performed at the recent SNL 50 concert. Cindy Wilson of The B-52’s noted the surprising fact that they’ve rarely shared stages before. Devo’s Gerry Casale summed it up: “That it took almost 50 years to happen is rather mind-blowing. But better late than never.” Don’t miss this historic team-up of two iconic new wave acts!
